Feature Friday: A Lovely Visit to The Osborne House

Di and I had a delightfully nice visit to The Osborne House, Queen Victoria's summer estate. Located on the Isle of Wight, this National Heritage site is a must see treasure!!

Photos inside of the estate are not permitted but we hope you get a glimpse of what a jewel the estate is.
View of The Osborne as we walked to the Swiss Cottage. Gorgeous!!

We spent longer than we anticipated touring the estate, walking the beautiful grounds, and visiting the Swiss Cottage and museum.
A view of the grounds outside of the Osborne House.

You can walk or take a mini coach to the various sites, very convenient!

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at the cafe on site and sat outside.
Goat cheese quiche with salad and new potatoes. Delicious!

Potato dumplings with mushroom and rocket leaves.
The view from the garden terrace, great ambiance for lunch! You can also enjoy high tea inside the dining room.

After lunch we walked to the Swiss cottage, garden, and museum. This is a great place to being kids to, they will love it!!
Pumpkins growing! Prince Albert gave each of their children a small plot on the garden and taught them the lessons of economics by buying the vegetables they had grown!

Great interactive activities for children, this table is compressed of large puzzle pieces which once lifted reveal facts a out the Swiss Cottage.

Overall, we had an amazing time at The Osborne House and would return!!
